Fr. Jim Parker, Pastor for Holy Cross Catholic School in Batavia conveys the deeper meaning behind the loving atmosphere of the school and how the children are encouraged to be “living tabernacles”. Mike Puttin, Principal, explains how the children experience an exceptional feeling of being at home here, even for those that are new. Two teachers, Kelly Carlson and Lisa Baier, explain the philosophy that “We all have Christ in us.” This value is instilled in the children’s hearts through the many programs they offer. Special guest Mary DeBlock who is an original teacher from the school, speaks about the approach they take to “Educate the Whole child”.
Mrs. Doherty, a teacher at this school just won Educator of the Year award! Click here to learn more.
Parents and students engage in a light-hearted game competition to round out the show. This inspiring show is valuable for many parents and other schools to hear more about their outstanding methods of teaching. These methods have been found to be so effective academically and spiritually. This school has only been around for seven years. According to the Principal Mike Puttin, “They have a remarkable enthusiasm in their community surrounding the school which contributes to their success.”
This special updated podcast includes a story and interview with a father who visited the school with his wife and four children. Since the tour they transferred their two school aged children from the public school to this Catholic school. This is a powerful witness and example of the good things that can happen when we encourage each other. A big thanks to Bill McNamee, our host, for taking a phone call from this father which lead them to a tour and now they are in good hands at Holy Cross Catholic School. Listen in and share with your friends that are on the fence about Catholic schools.
